Our best ski safaris

Winter in August- How to get the best ski safari

Yes, it starts this early for us. Those who have traveled with us before know that to get the best ski safari trip we need to start preparing early. This way we secure the most desired hotel rooms and make sure no one misses out on a ski safari once the season is in full swing. A ski safari means that our adventurous guests travel from region to region to ski the best snow. We don’t stick to the plan if its not right on the day. There’s no fun in going to one peak when another is better on the day.

We believe that the best ski safari is when you take advantage of the Alps and its microclimates.  Each valley has its own weather and we love to be flexible, implementing on-the-spot changes for visibility, ability and need.

Magic in the air

We remain dedicated to the way we work which produces the best ski trips for you. No one-day events with us. As the weather is ever-changing in the Alps, arranging at least a four-day window for a ski safari gives you the best chance of an unforgettable experience. At SwisSkiSafari our guides have all lived in the area for decades, so know where the best snow is going to be on any given day. On snowy days there are amazing opportunities for world-class off-piste skiing, and when the sun comes out our helicopter pilots are just a call away, to reach glorious untouched terrain by air.

We are planning ski trips in the Alps for 2019

And we can’t help but thinking back, here are some of our best ski safaris.

Diamonds are forever… especially when Cartier call. Looking for the ultimate romantic location to propose, unreachable by the public (or paparazzi) a certain recognisable gentleman called on the jewelers, who came to us for ideas. So we opened up a private Alpine chalet tucked far away from any resorts, surrounded by nothing but stunning snow-capped peaks. Heated for 3 days, decorated to the couple’s tastes and with gourmet cuisine to dine on, she said ‘yes’ in a stylish ski break to remember.

A Tree house treat…this was a magical trip for a couple looking for complete privacy and the best non-skiing, ski safari adventure. An expert guide took them on a snowshoe safari out of a resort and through thick snowy woodland to fairytale tree house for the night. Once their private chef has served dinner, he was whisked away by helicopter leaving the couple in the cozy wooden tree house by candlelight for the night.

A 40th birthday with a bang….for one group involved a week of James Bond-based activities including a night time torch-lit descent, a casino evening within their chalet, dinner in the secret lair of a Russian baddie and champagne in a hot tub back at HQ: a super luxurious private chalet, and the best ski safari in the Alps to remember.

Are you one of us?….If you have skiing and snowboarding in your blood and you start thinking about your next ski trip in the summer, this is a good sign: you are one of us. So reach out and demand the best ski safari for your next winter adventure. We’ll Craft Your Dream Ski Trip in the Alps.

Warm regards from the mountains.
