Details - Three Valleys, Three countries
We bring a heli-skiing and mountain adventure within reach of the normal skier. In this Alpine region, Switzerland, Italy and France border each other, so you can find yourself speaking different languages and eating different regional specialties all in the same day
- Days 1, 2 & 3
SwitzerlandRendezvous in a cosy 200 year-old hotel in Valais, where you’ll be briefed on your week ahead, and dine on sumptuous traditional mountain cuisine. Kick off your skiing surrounded by Switzerland’s most famous peaks, with a spectacular descent from 3000 meters, including skiing through a dramatic narrow valley and hiking through a short tunnel. Take off your skis, strap on a head torch, head into the dark tunnel and emerge the other side into bright daylight to ski into a new valley. Experiences like this just aren’t possible in a resort.
The next morning you’ll be dropped by helicopter at Swiss/French border and admire the peak where three countries meet. Visit a famous, ancient monk-filled monastery and hike Europe’s oldest Alpine pass for a touch of history. All this, and you’ll re-fuel with hearty mountain food to views of Mont Blanc, and end up after two spectacular days on the cobbled streets of Courmayeur, Italy.
- Day 4 & 5
Italy & FranceA breathtaking helicopter lift will take you to a remote 15km descent the next morning, before a second heli trip and vertical drops of 2,000 metres in the afternoon. This is where the adrenalin of skiing far away from groomed pistes really kicks in. Relax aching muscles in Courmayeur’s whirlpools, saunas and Turkish baths heated by the local thermal springs, before hitting France. Dramatic, high altitude off-piste skiing takes you among the tumbling icefalls and dizzying crevasses of the Mer de Glace down the Vallée Blanc on your last day. This descent may be high, but is not difficult. After the iconic 27 km run, you’ll finish in Chamonix for a charming lunch in France before your transfer back to Italy for your final night with your guides.
