Details - Ski touring.

  • Days 1 & 2: Arrive and master the basics
    Italy

On arrival, you’ll enjoy an aperitif with your guide on the cobbled streets of Courmayeur, and talk through your upcoming journey. Mentally prepared the next morning, you’ll get straight into the action. Test out your skins on some of the famous nearby, stopping at a family run restaurant with more than 100 years of history for a mouth-watering fireside lunch. This afternoon, learn rescue skills before returning to your cosy hotel.

  • Day 3: Your first hike
    Italy

Hone your newfound skills with a day of ski touring. A 2-hour ski hike will bring you to a 2,300 meter-high summit for a well-deserved picnic lunch on the top. The descent from this point is stunning: feel the freedom of skiing on untouched snow, looking out for ibex or chamois in this wild area. To top it all off, a foaming mug of decadent hot chocolate awaits you at the Italian refuge at the bottom. Think of this as a reward for your first day ski touring

  • Day 4: Spectacular scenery and superb skiing
    The French/Italian border

The last day will be the most spectacular, featuring high altitude, off-piste skiing among the tumbling icefalls and dizzying crevasses of the Vallée Blanc. From 3,048 meters up, reachable by cable car, you’ll descend the 27 kilometres of glacier into the French town of Chamonix, extending this iconic run with some unique ski touring along the way. Although high, the run is leisurely with incredible ice formations to witness. When you hear the creak of the glacier’s natural movement, you’ll know for sure that you’re on unique territory, far away from pisted runs.
