Details - From the Matterhorn to the Eiger
- Days 1 & 2
Rendezvous on the north side of the Rhone valley, at a gourmet restaurant in the chic resort of Crans Montana, overlooking the Valaisan Alps, no less. Study maps and receive a full briefing on your upcoming adventure.
A cable car will take you up to a glacier at 3,000 meters the next morning for a day of challenging skiing surrounded by the awesome Dom, Zinalrothhorn, Matterhorn and Dent Blanche mountains. Your reward is time in a hot-tub overlooking Mont Blanc, a spectacular location for a fireside dinner, before a torch-lit descent to the valley.
- Days 3, 4 & 5
Explore the impressive ski terrain between the French-speaking Valais and the German-speaking Bernese Oberland by helicopter, lift and ski. First off, an awe-inspiring heli lift to 3,247 meters will give you a long, spectacular descent to the Valais floor: just a taste of what’s still to come.
Spend two unforgettable days skirting the fringes of the fearsome Jungfrau with views of the Concordiaplatz, where four great glaciers meet. The vastness of this area is hard to believe. You’ll make the most of the best morning conditions, skiing from 4,000 metres towards a late lunch, and afterwards explore the remote towers of the Gspaltenhorn and the more gentle Tschingelhorn en route to your final destination. The scenery is dramatic, the skiing superb.
Your last day in Bernese-Oberland will be filled with high alpine powder in the shadow of the famous Jungfrau, the Monch and, finally, the mighty Eiger. You’ll return home with amazing stories of skiing Switzerland’s most famous peaks.
All this, and you’ll be tucking into hearty lunches in high altitude alpine huts, and sleeping in exclusive chalets in glamorous resorts, for some true indulgence at night.
