SwissHIKEsafari

Details - Hiking the Mont Blanc.

  • Days 1, 2 & 3
    Equipment initiation and discovery

Step out of your transfer car in Courmayeur and cross the cobbled street to your lodge, settle in and meet your guides to discuss the week’s adventure. You’ll spend these days passing through charming alpine villages with Mont Blanc in the distance. Learn how to use your equipment and harnesses to hike into the mountains along an old alpine pass. You’ll end up in a rustic mountain refuge 2,590 metres closer to the stars on the third night. Hear stories of the alpinists who have stayed here throughout history and watch a stunning sunset, mountain-style.

  • Days 4, 5 & 6
Close up and personal with a crevasse

This is where the real fun begins. Learn amongst large glacial ice formations and crevasses, practicing crampon techniques on a glacier. You’ll be amazed when the glacier slowly moves under your feet with popping and cracking sounds. After your descent from the mountain, enjoy a dose of alpine culture with a gourmet dinner in a vaulted 14th century stable. Back at altitude, amongst the spectacular tumbling icefalls and dizzying crevasses with Mont Blanc in sight, strap on your crampons for a hike across the glacier, traversing crevasses en route to your mountain refuge for the evening. A scenic day in truly fresh mountain air.
